Rabbit Sugar’s Stories by IMED – Chapter One

It wasn’t until several pompous days past since her birth that Sugar finally knew the honor of the word “Father”!
It was one of those unimaginably comforting Autumn evenings. Magnificent leaves in the colors of red, orange, and yellow floated down from tree tops to path below. Sugar was wandering in the woods, accompanied by her mother Heather Organville, and her eldest sister of the litter, Cindy Bun. The forest was full of sounds: fireflies cooing, squirrels chattering, woodpeckers letting out hair-curling “weeee-k”s.
Whirring objects with the shape of crows flew above the wandering rabbits. “Vrrrpprrrooooo” was a constant shout of in Sugar’s opinion triumph.
“Mother, what’s that?” Cindy Bun asked plaintively, nose wobbling, pointing at the flying objects.
“Oh, those?” Her mother sighed, “Airplanes. Your father could be in one of them now.”
“What? In there? How? Did he get eaten?” Sugar said.
“Ha. No, those things don’t eat.” Cindy Bun answered for mother, ” Head of the family! Taught mother everything he knew, didn’t he?”
“Yes, he did, dearies.” Sighed mother gravely.
” Where is he now?” Sugar asked.
” I don’t know. He seems far , far away.” Said mother.
“Mother… How come he was gone? ” Cindy Bun asked sadly.
“I wish not to speak of it now. You will understand, later or never.” Came the answer.
“Please! Tell us, mother!” Sugar pleaded.
“Yeah, we want to know! we would never tell anyone.” Cindy Bun joined Sugar.
“Okay, dearies. Here goes.” Mother started her story about father. “It all started when I was three months old. At that time, we were free to do whatever we wanted. One day, I was prancing with my cousin Arpothymate under a huge oak tree near a lake. We didn’t notice that an owl was fling towards us, flexing its claws. Before it reached us, a rabbit with the color of solid clay warned us. We rushed to run with him. Luckily, we escaped from the owl. This was how your father and I met. We got married soon after we met. He saved me one more time after our marriage. In order to protect me from humans, he was captured.”
